The Dreyfoos Visual Arts Department enrolls approximately 275 students. The students participate in film, sculpture, architecture, drawing painting and printmaking classes. In 2005 and 2007, the College Board recognized the Dreyfoos Visual Arts Department for “leading the world" in helping the widest segment of their total school population attain college-level mastery of Advanced Placement Art.

In 2008 the department received generous support from the Addison Hines Charitable Trust.
