The Dreyfoos Communication Arts Department enrolls approximately 270 students. This department teaches students journalism, creative writing, film, TV production and debate.
In 2006 and 2007, the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Speech and Debate Team captured the top prize in the National Public Policy Forum in New York City. The only team to ever win two times in a row, the team won the coveted Bickel and Brewer Cup in the prestigious public policy debate sponsored by New York University and the Bickel and Brewer Law Firm / Foundation.
