No, the Alexander W. Dreyfoos, Jr. School of the Arts is a public magnet high school.
2. What is the cost to attend?
The school is tuition free and donation dependent. In order to maintain the quality of programs, the school’s Foundation solicits donations on behalf of the school and its students. No student is admitted or denied admission based on financial status. Donations to the School of the Arts Foundation are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
3. What grades do you serve?
The school serves 9th through 12 grades.
4. Where is the school located?
The Dreyfoos School is located on a 19 ½ acre campus in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida just north of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and west of City Place at
501 S. Sapodilla Avenue.
5. Does the student have to live in West Palm Beach to attend?
No, the Dreyfoos School of the Arts attracts students from all over Palm Beach County. A student must be a Palm Beach County resident to attend.
6. How do the students get to school?
Students use a combination of public transportation and school buses. We are conveniently located across the street from the West Palm Beach Tri-Rail Station, a commuter train that travels from the Boca Raton area to West Palm Beach. To access Tri-Rail, students often take busses from their homes to the Tri-Rail station.
7. How does an interested student enroll?

8. What programs are offered?
The school offers majors in visual arts, theatre, dance, photography/digital media/film, music (band, orchestra, piano, vocal), and communication arts (TV production, journalism, creative writing, graphic arts and speech and debate).

The school prides itself on its academic achievements. Dreyfoos consistently scores at the top of the county’s high schools in the areas of FCAT, SAT and ACT scores and percentage of students graduating and attending a post secondary school.
