 2010-2011 Save the Arts Campaign

Help maintain the arts at Dreyfoos!

Alert: On April 6, 2010 the school was informed the arts magnet budget was cut by $111,000 or the equivalent of two arts teachers.  This money must be replaced and you can help do that.

What is the Save the Arts Campaign?
Parents initiated the Save the Arts Campaign 6 years ago to make up for state and local budget cuts that continue to drastically impact the Dreyfoos School. Our goal is to raise $400,000 to maintain the programs that parents and students expected when they auditioned for this nationally recognized public high school. Each year, we ask families to donate as they are able with a goal of raising $500 per student.

How Does the School use the Money?
Artists in residence -  art and academic supplies and equipment -
 non-instructional staff

 Why Start Collecting So Early?
In order to proactively budget for the 2010-2011 school year,
we need to know now how much money will be available for supplies and personnel.

But I Already Gave to my Child’s Art Area!
Donations to specific art areas only cover specific departmental needs such as
basic art supplies, music, scripts, trips, etc.

All gifts – Large and Small – will be needed to Ease
 the School’s Funding Crisis.
All donations are tax deductible and may be made in one payment or over time.

How Can You Help?
Donate TODAY! 100% participation of parents and students is the goal. Encourage family, friends and businesses to join our efforts! Any and all contributions are appreciated!

Make a small monthly contribution to fit your budget. On average, $500 is needed for each student to meet the shortfall. A $50 per month contribution for 10 months may be more manageable in these tough economic times.

Double your donation with employermatching gift programs. (FPL, Tyco, Bank of America, AT&T, Wachovia, Pratt Whitney, Merrill Lynch, etc.)

Designate your United Way donations to benefit the School of the Arts Foundation and ask your friends and family to do the same.

Sponsor one or more financially disadvantaged student(s).
