The Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts Music Department is a celebration of sound. Visit our hallways and you’ll hear what we mean. On any given school day you might hear the sounds of a symphony orchestra, a chorus rehearsal, the rhythm of jazz ensemble, or a pianist, repeating a phrase until it is perfect. The Music Department is a place where Palm Beach County’s most talented young musicians practice, learn and study excellence in music.
With an enrollment of over 330 students, the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Music Department is renowned as one of the best in the nation. Offering training in band, vocal, piano and strings, the musical performance of our students is rivaled only by their academic performance. Academic success should come as no surprise. The discipline necessary to perfect a single musical performance prepares our students to excel in the classroom.
In 2008 the department received generous support from the Addison Hines Charitable Trust.
